Alpharetta, Georgia is a Fulton County city, and as of 2010, its population as approaching 58,000 residents. Alpharetta is an affluent Atlanta suburb located just north of the city, and it was incorporated in December 1858. Alpharetta is home to a variety of industries and major employers for the region, including Verizon Wireless, McKesson, ADP, and LexisNexis. Students can also pursue a higher education in Alpharetta, as both Reinhardt University and Georgia State University have satellite campuses found in this city.

Alpharetta is hosts several fun and exciting festivals throughout the year. The Alpharetta Brew Moon Fest occurs in October, and it features beer, wine, and food from some of the best restaurants in Alpharetta. The Scarecrow Harvest is held around the same time, and it features over 100 scarecrows that line downtown Alpharetta streets to celebrate the autumn. The Taste of Alpharetta is the area’s annual food festival, featuring great food, art exhibits, and live music.

The city is also home to other unique attractions. The Downtown Alpharetta Historic District features historic buildings that date back to the late 19th century. The Mansell House and Gardens is home to the local Alpharetta Historical Society and is a popular event venue. The Alpharetta Farmers Market is also a great place to get local fresh vegetables, edible goods, and flowers.

Alpharetta is part of a humid subtropical climate zone. On average, the community will see less than one inch of total snowfall all year, but ice storms and freezing temperatures can occur during the winter. Due to these weather conditions, residents are smart to service their home heat pump or furnace during the fall so that they are in good working order by December. Additionally, summers in this city can be hot and humid, and a reliable air conditioning system is needed to stay safe and comfortable.
