About Dawsonville, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Dawson County, Georgia, Dawsonville is a small city that also serves as the county seat. This community was founded in 1857 and was incorporated as a town two years later. Named for former Senator William Crosby Dawson, Dawsonville was incorporated into a city in 1952. Dawsonville is located at the junctions of three State Routes – 9, 136, and 53 – and Amicalola Falls, one of the several natural wonders in Georgia, is found here.

Dawsonville is well known in the auto racing community for its historical involvement in the sport, and many area residents earned their racing skills as a consequence of illegal moonshine activities within the area. This involvement is celebrated each October with the Mountain Moonshine Festival. The community is also home to racing greats Bill and Chase Elliott.

There are numerous attractions located in Dawsonville, despite the city’s small size. Anicalola Falls State Park is located here, and it features over 1,500 acres of mountainous terrain and waterfalls. Shopping is popular at Dawsonville’s North Georgia Premium Outlets, and during the fall, residents enjoy picking out their own pumpkins at Burt’s Farm. The Georgia Racing Hall of Fame is also found in this community.

Summers in Dawsonville are typically hot and humid. This can be an especially difficult time of the year for people who suffer from seasonal allergies. Luckily, many home air conditioning systems can improve indoor air quality by reducing dust, pollen, and other allergens. Not only will homes stay cool in the summer, but residents can also breathe easier.

During the winter, temperatures can be cool, but snowfall is usually minimal. However, the community does see some freezing rain, and when cold temperatures are also present, icy conditions may exist. This can make travel during the winter in Dawsonville quite hazardous, so residents will need to have an efficient heat pump or furnace available in their homes.
